The Crisis in Radiology

Radiology has become essential to modern medicine—central to oncology, cardiology, emergency care, and virtually every clinical specialty. Yet the field is at a breaking point.

Nearly 7 in 10 radiologists report being short-staffed, and 67% say burnout is affecting their personal lives. Imaging demand per patient has risen 13% in recent years and is projected to grow in the double digits over the next decade. Meanwhile, radiologist training capacity has remained nearly flat for decades.

The consequences are dire. Emergency patients needing imaging are 4.4 times more likely to experience dangerous delays. In acute stroke, every 15-minute delay increases the risk of death or disability. Pandemic-era imaging backlogs shifted breast cancers to later stages, projected to cause 2,500 excess deaths in the US alone.

Radiology's fragility has become the healthcare system's fragility.

Superhuman Radiologists

The solution isn't to replace radiologists—it's to enable them to accomplish feats not currently thought possible. Reading very large numbers of scans, very accurately, without breaking a sweat.

We're developing next-generation foundation models for radiology that automatically read medical images and generate full structured reports. Our systems help radiologists work faster and with greater accuracy, handling the repetitive grind of high-volume cases while assisting with complex ones.

Within a year, we've built models that set new benchmarks for performance. This is just the beginning.
